Default Which T56 do I need?

I have a T56 from a 2006 GTO. I am guying a new crate LS3 for my car and was going to use a Quicktime bellhousing (external clutch fork). Quicktime states to use a LS1 T56.

Are all the T56's the same? Is there a difference between the input shaft of a LS1 versus the T56 version I have?

Thanks!

Yes the quicktime bell will work fine. That t56 has the same midplate and will accept the same bell hosuing as a normal ls1 fbody t56. However the gto starter is specific to that bellhousing if you run the quick time or ls1 bell you will need an ls1 starter. also the shifter level needs to be swapped to an fbody one depending on what shifter you plan to use, either way no big deal.

Great! Thanks for the information!

Just for curiosity, since it is using a clutch fork, do you happen to know what type of throwout bearing is used? The set-up I have now has a T56 with an adapter plate the bolts to a Lakewood bellhousing behind a SBC. The adapter plate has a hub on it for the old style throwout bearing.

what quicktime housing are you looking at? The ls style t56 wont work with a clutch fork and the quicktime bell for an ls doesnt need one either it uses the stock style slave

Here is the version Quicktime has on their web site. This was what I was going to use, but it looks like something is missing.

As mentioned, I do not see any type of hub where the throwout bearing would ride.

Thanks for your help!

Why not just use this one? http://www.tickperformance.com/quick...gm-lsx-to-t56/

Quicktime must make a mechanical adapter but why not just go with the one made as a drop in for fbodys and gto's and retain the stock hydraulic setup

It is set-up now with a clutch fork. I would have to buy all new hydraulics to convert it back. I though it would be easier just using the QT bellhousing and keeping the set-up it has now.

I might have to do some digging and see how much to convert it all back.

Thanks!
