Transmission Removal ?

Transmission Removal ? In the LS1 F-body can the transmission be removed from the car and leave the bell housing attached to the engine ? Or is there internal bolts holding the bell to the trans ?

Yes, in fact I just did this task this past weekend. I removed the transmission first, then I removed the bell housing second. It was fairly simple to remove them separately, and it went back together like butter!!

Thanks for the info. I have only pulled the trans out when I drop the engine out the bottom, haven't had to do just the trans yet...
