Differences in Factory Replacement Slave cylinders
When I first did the engine and tranny swap on my car about a year ago the replacement slave cylinder I purchased was full plastic construction. I was less than impressed by the amount of deflection that was seen when the pedal was pressed.
Recently it died, and the replacement one I purchased had a metal body, and is really, a nice upgrade.
Original one came from Advance Auto don't remember the Part number.
New one came from Autozone Duralast 13324.
with that said I have the "plastic" OEM one as do well over 100's of thousands LT1/4 pull clutch cars without issue.
When I put my McLeod Street Twin in I just bought a new slave and kept my original hydraulics for another project car I am putting a LT1/T56 in. The replacement slave is plastic and exactly the same brand as stock, although sold under the store brand name. I have never noticed any deflection in the slave while the clutch is depressed, even with a twin disc clutch running a larger Wilwood MC
cool a replacement aftermarket part is made of metal. Tilton made a all metal one but they had problems with the inner bore relief hole catching the plunger cup and tearing it. The metal Tilton one did not have a chamfered hole on the inside
