Transmission problems I just puchaced my 94 firebird and the transmission is grinding when you put it in to 2nd gear. Revese is merly impossible. I know it has the original t56 and clutch in it. The motor is stock and it has 200,000 on it. Is there any suggestions on where i should start to fix the problems
2nd Gear and Reverse Gear are the most common problems on a T56. I am sure the both gears are worn and need replacing. You could always open it yourself, save some money and order some parts. Plenty of how to write ups on doing it yourself.
