Default Tr6060 question

So I have a pretty decent knowledge on motors but not a damn thing on transmissions. I recently got a tr6060 from work for free that needs to be rebuilt. It was originally in a corvette. So what would be need to be able to use it in a Camaro or trans am.

Is it a 2008+ Z06 style? If so rebuild it and sell it. They are desirable.

Then buy a new T56 magnum

I've made them the exact length of the GTO/F with pump.
Most end up slightly longer.
GNX7 has a solid suggestion.

You need a t56 Magnum input shaft, mid plate, and main shaft. You need a modified F-body tail housing and shifter rail. It's around $1300 to buy all of that, and of course you need a drive shaft yoke. I've actually been looking for a cheap Vette tr6060 to convert and put in my 67, but I never see them anywhere near cheap enough. I'm just gonna buy a Magnum.

You scored getting one for free. Even if you need some rebuild parts, you could have it ready to fit a 4th gen for around $2000. Selling it to offset buying another trans is a good option though.

Link to parts http://www.ddperformance.com/t-56-ma...-6060-6-speed/

Any machine shop can machine a 4th gen tail housing to fit the magnum bushing and seal. Or use a magnum tail housing if you don't need a f body housing.

Thanks man that helps a lot know what I'm looking for. I work in parts at a gm dealership so I get parts for cheap. I'll have to see what I can get compared to them. Thanks again!

Just my 2 cents. You will not have to change input shafts to use the Magnum front plate. You will need re-shim both the input and clustergear bearings tho.

Ok I'll deff look into that too. It has to be rebuilt anyway so that'll work out
