Exclamation Slave Cylinder Issue

1999 Camaro SS M6... Was in the middle of finishing a trans install and replaced the slave while down there since it was bad also and the slave cylinder won't reconnect with the master cylinder. Every slave I've replaced before has been the traditional kind with the little fingers on the inside but this new one has this black c clip thing and won't allow the male connector to go in at all. GM slave BTW but “newer" version.

Any one else dealt sort of crap before? Any help or advice?

same ****. I'm pulling my transmission tomorrow so I can replace the c-clip disconnect with the one from my old slave. aside from the difficulties connecting and disconnecting your lines, the C-clip has failed to hold causing my line to pop out. It's particularly bad if you've upgraded your master.

SOB.. Was hoping I wouldn't have to drop the trans again but guess I have to. A friend of mine claims I was supposed to pull the clip out and leave it out. Instructions say otherwise. I'm pretty pissed to say the least.

Thanks BTW for the input
