T56 with drive by wire?

T56 with drive by wire? Running a 2002 LQ4 from a Yukon with drive by wire. Decided to go with a T56 after i bought the motor.
Anyone else running a DBW with their manual trans?
A little concerned about it because there was a noticeable delay in response when reving the motor before i pulled it.
Reading over at lt1swap.com he makes it sound like that delay is due to the torque management and throttle response should improve once thats programmed out.
I have a cable TB that came with my LS6 intake that I could run, but I would need to buy an IAC valve for it.
If I keep the DBW i can easily enable cruise control. though I'm not sure if that would even work with the manual trans.
Looking for some opinions. At the point in my build where i need to commit one way or the other.

If your ecu was tuned with an automatic in place, it would of course need re-tuned to suit the new setup.
DBW can be programmed to do many things, and auto/manual is bound to affect the end result if you change.

Lots of vehicles came stock with a t56 and have dbw and cruise control, 2005-2006 gto's & corvettes just to name a few.
I have a stock pullout 2006 GTO ls2 with dbw and a t56 and cruise control in my 66 gto and it works great.
