Pro 5.0 install question

Pro 5.0 install question I bought a Pro 5.0 shifter from a member here and I finally got around to installing it today. After the install the shifter sits to far to the right. When in 1st it looks like it used to when it was in 3rd and when I put it in reverse it hits the side of the console. Is it possible to install these things backwards? Or is this normal? Ive never had or driven a car with an after market shifter like this one. I reinstalled the Pro 5.0 the same way the factory hurst came out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's been forever since I installed my Pro 5.0 but the stick should not be hitting anything. It is a different angle that I had to get used to but it never has hit or rubbed on any part of the console. Not sure if putting it on backwards is even possible though.

The shifter housing attaches on the trans with the writing to the front and then the stick ( i have a lous short stick) attaches to the drivers side of the shifter with the slope angle of the stick to the drivers side. Not sure what stick you have. I read your second post you are using lous short stick too!
