Default T56 Reverse Rail differences?

Hi there,
Converting a C6 T56 into a poor man's GTO transmission by using F-Body front adapter and case / shift rails / tailshaft / GTO mainshaft.

One thing I noticed on teardown is the Corvette Reverse Rail has no notch in it whereas the F-Body rail has a notch cut on both ends. In this case it is an old LT1 T56 reverse rail on the bottom in the pic.

I am -assuming- that the notch is to lubricate the solid rail bushing vs. the needle bearing type bushings in the C6 case and adapter plate, but am not sure.

The lengths are identical and I'd rather use the Corvette rail as it is newer but not if it will create a problem.

Either is fine to use. Reverse is bushed; your C6 T56 will have ball rollers at the main shift rail only.
