Default Should I replace this blocker ring that I dropped?

I made a newb mistake building my T56. While setting the preload on my countershaft, I picked up my extension shaft by mistake. The Before I realized it, 6th gear fell of the shaft along with the blocker ring and thrust washer. Knocked some perfectly gear-shaped chips out of the concrete, but I think I dodged a bullet because I can't find any chips in the gear.

The only problem I can find is this tiny knick in the blocker ring and friction. The friction material is peeled back just a tiny bit. This doesn't look like a problem to me, but if this was a main bearing, i'd probably replace it just because.

Will this little knick end up cause the friction material to peel back or tear off? Is it good to run?

This sort of thing turns my OCD up to 11!

Anyone have any suggestions? I think it's fine, but figured it was worth asking.

If you have a concern, take a file and knock off any raised material/ burr.

Give a call to a transmission shop, Tremec support? There might be an approved way to "seal" that wound. Leading or trailing edge might make a difference.

I'd clean it up and run it.

Thanks! I appreciate the sanity check.

I will give Tremec a call. Don't know why I hadn't considered that. I guess I think of them sort of like calling Chevrolet and asking about a part.

For the cost of a 6th gear blocker ring from the gearbox, I'd just buy one. I just completed my trans rebuild (we got to do it two weekends in a row due to a sticky synchro). After pulling mine within 10 minutes of putting it in and tearing it down two weekends in a row...I'd likely replace that to be sure. Is that a new one or were you reusing an old one?

I emailed Tremec the photo above. I'll let you know what i hear back. The blocker is new. $50 is a little above my "just replace it" threshold

Holy crap! With a minute or two of hitting send on my email, I got a call back from Tremec Customer Support. They said file down the burr and run it! Sounds like a plan to me!

I wish all the companies I dealt with and the same customer support!

Wow thats great! I was going to say to de-bur it and run it, thats what I would do but I'm not an expert.
