Default Tko 600, is it worth it.

Looking at doing an lsx swap in a new edge mustang, and wanting a manual trans. The t56 are worth gold around my part of the woods, just wanted to see what you guys thought. I heard good and bad about them.

thanks.

What do you want to do with the car?

If you want the TKO 600 and it fits the budget it's worth it.

If it puts your project over budget and you can't complete the car I would consider a different option.

To me having a Hawk's Level 2 T56 in my 91 RS to go with the 383 LS1 was worth it - most other people would say it wasn't worth the hassle and the cost, that a super charger and 4L60e would have been faster and better.

I wanted the six speed because that's fun to drive to me.

The TKO600 out of the box shifts "crunchy" and doesn't like high RPM shifting.... so that being said if you have the $$$$ get a T56 or even better yet the T56 Magnum. The Magnum shifts like butter compared to the '98-06 style T56's and tolerates high RPM shift points without issue.
