CTS-V Drill mod? fluid?

Hello all!
This forum is always so helpful I wanted to thank you in advance...
My questions are simple:
Is the CTS-V hampered by the same flow restrictors as the vette and F-body? If so, where are the restrictors and what should I do.
Second, I'd love to do a first change on the T56 fluid. I'd like to run the first stuff for a short time (I'm near 6k miles) and I plan to run the second fluid longer. What fluid should I use?
Now, an issue. I do suffer from a bit of a problem. I occasionally find it hard to shift into first. I will sometimes throw the shifter into second then back to first to ease engagement (of lever, not clutch pedal). What could cause this? Is this normal functioning of the tranny?
