Default Slave shim question...

I just purchased a Diamond Stage 2 clutch and got a Luk slave cylinder which looks to be the same as the GM part. The Diamond clutch came with a shim but I realize the clutch fits multiple vehicles. Does the 98-2002 Fbody with T56 require the shim?

remove spring and install on trans then measure compressed to bellhousing. then measure from block to clutch fingers. you need a liitle gap between bearing and clutch fingers, but if to large it needs shims. can't remember exactly, so do a search should confirm the gap. probably around .150" to .250", but look it up and measure to be sure

I got an answer directly from Jason. He said on the Fbody to use the shim for best pedal feel.
