Default Leaking t56

I bought a used t56 and am using it my swap but the adapter plug on the front cover is leaking. Can it be removed and some sealer put on? Does it adjust anything in the trans? Never worked on a manual transmission before and just wanted to make sure I don’t screw something up. Thanks

Wont hurt anything to remove and reseal but it will puke oil out if it is full.

Thanks. I didn’t know if there was anything behind it that might get moved if I tightened it further than it was. I’ll probably just measure it and try to get it back to the same depth

Just put some sealant on it and tighten it up. Its just a threaded plug.
