Default Help with installing twin disk

I have a Mcleod twin disk I'm trying to install. Before I tighten the pressure plate down I'm aligning the two disks with the supplied alignment tool. Question is there's play in the tool in all 360 degrees. Is this normal? I do have a pilot bearing in my crank that the tool is sliding in to. Here is a short video of what I'm trying to describe. Thanks.

a little late to the party ….but the Twin is one nice clutch. I found pushing straight in with it vs just letting the PP/discs/floater "hanging" on it works. Also run your fingers around the edge of discs/floater. They should be = all the way around to the PP hat. Not one "slightly" offset

Thanks. That's kind of what I did before making this post. It just didn't look right so I was curious. I was going to bolt the trans up after the engine was in the car but i'll do a test fit first and make sure they connect well.

if motor and engine are out of the car, heck yeah stab the tranny to confirm it goes in al the way. If not do not pull the trans in with bolts. The tip of the input shaft is catching the edge of the pilot bearing and will kill it as a result of doing that

You "may" also experience the fork will buzz the PP when adjusting the MC rod enough to get full disengagement. If that happens you need to cut down the "T" the fork rides on the thickness of a washer or notch the fork where it contact PP. Not all have this issue but if you do you have 2 options to resolve....unfortunately you need to pull tranny for either

I wish I had gone with the street twin earlier before spending $ on several single disc clutches.

It's normal, as said above try your best to center it rather then let clutch disk hang on it. Best option is to use an old input shaft, makes them lined up perfect and trans slides right on.
