Default need help with a clutch issue

hello all. Im new to LS1tech and new to LS power cars. i teach mechanics how to work on farm equipment. i bought a 2001 Camaro Z28. the motor, body and interior are the only things stock. i need some help on a few things but here is the run down on the camaro

stock motor
has a slp lid
long tubes. no cats. exhaust ends at the passenger seat
zex wet kit 100 kit not currently all hooked up
stock fuel pump
monster stage 3 clutch
liberty built t56 magnum faceplated 1st true 4th with billet internals.
subframe connectors
tubular torque arm.
profab 9 inch rear end with a strang prf105 center section. 3.25 gears. full spool
strang street strip axles 35 spline
alfco coil overs
15x10 billet specialty wheels
275 50 15 Mt et street drag radials.
there is more to it just cant remember it all. i have all the reciepts for it. it was built by a guy i work with 6 years ago then he let it sit till i bought a couple days before Christmas. he spent alot on it before it got parked.

so i have a problem with it. i was doing a little burn out and was going to make a hit and while i was warming up the tires it died on me and now when i go to let out on the clutch in any gear it grinds and chatters. it will move under its own power. i have not taken the tranny out yet to see if i broke something in the clutch. but im leaning towards i broke maybe the pressure plate or the maybe the throw out bearing. i doubt i would have hurt the tranny. has anyone had this issue before? also i will be changing out the rear gears to like a 3.73 or 3.90. and want to put a cam in it. and maybe use the nitrous after i get a controller and new solenoids. what cam should i use and what size fuel pump would i need? thanks to all that helps.

Sounds like you cooked the disc on the burnout. You will need to pull tranny and look at clutch. If clutch is OK then rotate inpot shaft of trany...does it turn smooth or do you feel.hear a "problem". If that is the case you broke something in tranny

Either way trans & clutch need to come out

Regarding a cam with NOS. I would check out Lloyd Elliott's Poerworks. for a cam....and have your heads done by him also

NOS often requires a larger in tank (walbro 255) pump and or a additional external inline FP

stock hyper pistons and bottom end don't last long on NOS...consider a "NOS" build (forged 4 bolt) for the motor if you intend to spray

Check the clutch master cylinder fluid, if its nasty flush it out and bleed it. I'm willing to bet its pretty bad after sitting for 6 years since dot 3 is hygroscopic. These cars are known for heating up the fluid when doing pulls then having clutch issues. The Drill mod and heat wrapping the line from the master to slave helps. Maybe you cooked the fluid, its simple enough to try first and much easier than pulling the transmission.

You probably need a new clutch kit. By the way get the Tick Performance Clutch Master Cylinder it makes a worlds of difference on these 4th gen Fbody cars. My pedal was sinking in anything above 4500 rpm trying to step on the gas. Tick performance master fixes the problem. If you have a OEM master the pedal sinking in will happen sooner or later.
