Default T-56 5th Gear problem

I was driving down the road normally until the whole car just clunked and now my 5th gear is just another neutral. I just had the transmission rebuilt 2 years ago when I bought the car because the same gear would grind.

What is usually broken if the gear is a neutral?

Did you only lose 5th gear or did you lose 6th gear and/or reverse gear as well?

if the prob is just 5th, the driven gear on the mainshaft is likely sheared( the teeth)

Only thing I can think of is that you wore the 5th gear side off the 5/6 shift fork. Anything else will effect other gears in the back of the unit.

if it had a 5th gear jump out before and the shift fork was not replaced, that's your problem- the shift fork is bent.
