T56 MidPlate differences?
So does anyone have any info as to the differences from the ls1/gto t56 midplate to the CTS V t56 midplate?
I tried doing a cts v to fbody conversion and the gto shift rail is too short wondering if anyone could help out as to why😔
Thanks for replying,
No sir I for sure bought the GTO shift rail here is a screen shot.
I called Hawks motors ports and they're saying there is a difference between the two front plates. But from what I read on the forums it's just a difference of a 1/2 inch of the input shaft that requires a different pilot bearing
Nothing about the shift rail though😔
The transmission came out of a 05 cts V gen 1
So all I have to do is use the offset shifter cup(which I already ordered on the way)?
Location of the main rail is set by the mid-case detent lever you're missing. Detent position (1,3,5,R or N or 2,4,6) is set by the spring and ball and guide plate under this piece in the T56 line *except the CTS-V and some later T56 Vettes.*
if you're going to copy an operating mechanism, you have to use all relevant parts; see above list. The CTS-V spring up front can be re-used and the ball, plate, and maybe detent lever need acquired.
I highly recommend you work with a competent vendor who didn't copy-paste their T56 business from a real builder.
what do I need to do with my Camaro T56 midplate to use it on a 05 CTV-S T56 transmission. My T56 plate has been modified to fit to a british ar b ell housing?
Thanks

Start your own thread. Explain why you're wanting to do X part with Y mid plate and if you're keeping the rear of the trans. as stock.
I can't tell which plate is modded.
New replacement plate and GTO plate has a longer shift rail pocket than the Camaro plate.
