Needing some help I’m swapping a ls1 from wrecked 2000 c5. Originally was gonna do the c5 tranny I have and convert it to a fbody but jus got a really good deal on the 2006 gto t56. My question is will it mount to the c5 engine I have now? I read somewhere it will but have to change starter. Is this true or will I have to go with a QuickTime Bellhousing? Thank you

The GTO t56 will bolt up to the Vette ls1 but it won't work if you're trying to put it in a C5 Vette. Not sure what you're trying to put it in.

Thanks for the fast response! I’m new to the V8 world I’m swapping this in my 1990 300ZX the gto transmission is the exact same shifter location as the stock just wanted to make sure it would bolt up. Will I need to change starter to gto or will c5 starter be ok?

Do realize that the gto bell is different and needs a gto starter. The c5 starter will not fit.
