Shim question Hey guys new to ls1 form not sure if I’m posting in the right place i’m going to purchase a monster level 2 clutch for my 2000 camaro ss, And if I’m not mistaken I believe it comes with the slave cylinder/throwout bearing and the pilot bearing, does anyone know if it comes with the appropriate size shim or if not what would be the appropriate size shim. My clutch isn’t disengaging properly I have replace the slave cylinder and also the master cylinder and Bled it properly, With the help of someone from the form I was able to determine that neither one was the problem that it is the clutch thanks for any info or advice
Tick Performance sells shim kits, easy to find online. If you go to the Tick site you can download the measurement sheet to determine the gap. You will need to take a few measurements and take the spring off the slave for one of the measurements. Mine ended up being 8mm which was the 2 thickest of the 3 shims. I ended up taking it to a shop because they had the tools and equipment to take an accurate measurement. I have seen others recently with equally large gaps. One note with shims, if you have to stack them, like I did, you will need longer bolts. Make sure you get the right type of bolts, tinsel strength and tooth length. Torque must be within manufacturer's ranges too. With the 8mm shims I needed longer bolts and the shop put those in.
Get a camera on a scope and put it in the trans by the clutch line to watch engagement and disengagement. If the slave moves the entire time you push the pedal then you are fully bled.

Thanks for the advice I definitely will give that a try, but I am definitely still going to get a level two monster clutch and I am not sure if it comes with a shim or what would be the appropriate size shim for that set up, it would basically be the monster clutch and a GM throwout bearing/slave cylinder

what size shim did you have to go with, I know tick offers three sizes. thanks in advance
