Tunnel cut for shifter... Could use some help with the tunnel cut for the shifter. I have the LS427 and T56 mated. I'm about to pull off the front-end (hood, fenders, radiator support, etc...) of the newly painted body so I don't do any damage to them and also give me more clearance for the install. I have the Speedtech T56 trans tunnel already installed. Just need to get the shifter cut done.
What was the process you used to get this done? Is there a template that needs to be adhered to for the cut? Can someone point me in the right direction for the boot and anything else needed for the shifter to sit properly through the tunnel?

Your motor mounts are a non moveable point on your chassis, your rear transmission mount is mostly fixed, using these points, measure off the motor mounts on the engine and the transmission mount and the shifter location on the transmission to determine where to place your hole.....just a lot of measurements to make , the tape won’t lie to you.....

Your motor mounts are a non moveable point on your chassis, your rear transmission mount is mostly fixed, using these points, measure off the motor mounts on the engine and the transmission mount and the shifter location on the transmission to determine where to place your hole.....just a lot of measurements to make , the tape won’t lie to you.....
If you are unsure, start this way, it will depend on your measurements, make a small hole...1/4. ..remove the shift tower, seal the transmission, set it in the engine/ transmission combined, check your (test) hole, if you have to move a little bit, you will most likely cut out your test hole....you have to figure any offset in the shifter ...have done this many times, no issues
