Reverse lockout not blocking gate
Reverse lockout not blocking gate Thought I'd get some input before digging too far into this problem. T56 reverse lockout is not blocking the gate. I keep walking into reverse when shifting to 5th on the highway. Today I got in far enough that it ground teeth.
This is a Holley EFI where I provide +12V to solenoid when (mph > 5). The +12V ECM driver is tripping on/off properly in datalogs. I haven't spooned into the circuit to measure actual voltage but the datalog is probably believable.
I always thought the native state of the solenoid is to block the gate and the solenoid had to have voltage to open the gate. Do these things sometimes mechanically break and lose ability to block the gate?
I'm fixin' to remove the solenoid and possibly replace, but some input from experienced people always helps. Thanks.
