Default Intermittent clutch problem

Looking for advice here. I have searched but not found an answer. I read the sticky post notes on this but maybe I am just seeing my symptoms differently as the clutch acts like it is not engaged at all when it sticks part way up. Maybe I am wrong.

Anyway, my 2000 trans am 6 speed has a periodic issue where the clutch pedal does not come all the way up after you push it down to shift. It happens occasionally. When it does, if you just push it down, it does not disengage the clutch and you cannot shift. You have to lift the pedal all the way up with your foot, then it works as normal until this happens again.

The reservoir is full of fluid. Car has 44K miles on it with original clutch as far as I know (I am 3rd owner, have had it for about 7 months and a few thousand miles now as it had 41K when I bought it).

Anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,

Jon

Thanks! I hate to pull trans at 44K to do drill mod. Maybe will try master first as that should be easier.

Need to address replacing the clutch on my much more regularly driven 2001 Jeep Wrangler first though. It has almost 158K on original clutch and starting to show signs it needs to be changed. I wish the T-56 had a an external slave cylinder like the Jeep does. So much easier!
