Default This bracket??

Ok, I’m using a Tick master and will need to drill the fire wall hole for it. Looks like that crescent piece on the pedal assembly can be used as a template once the pedals are bolted in??! And then I found this black bracket on eBay. How will that fit? Inside or outside of the cabin? And what’s the top holes on the bracket do/ hold? Has anyone used this type of bracket before to do a T56 swap?? Any good ndp would be awesome. Thanx.

That bracket is for earlier GM vehicles to reinforce and positively locate an F-body master cylinder to the firewall, relative to the brake booster. The bolt patterns are not distanced correctly for a third nor fourth gen.
An 02 firewall has a double-sheet metal reinforcement plus the pedal hanger bracket. You can use the crescent bolt pattern to drill new holes in your A4 car.

Ok, so you are saying that for my 02, I don’t need this bracket and it won’t fit anyway.

so my firewall is thick enough that I won’t have any flex? And that half moon crescent shaped doohickey on my pedals works like a template to drill the holes for the master after the pedals are bolted in??

Hope you found your answer by now, but if not, I just drilled my firewall for a T56 swap (and Tick master cylinder). I also took the reinforcement plate off of my donor car. Pictures are in my conversion thread:

Glad it helped! I am actually swapping the entire interior wiring harness from my donor car due to the V6 to V8 swap, so I hopefully wont have to deal with any sort of wiring issues for the manual swap either. I'll be updating that thread as I cut the trans tunnel as well.

that’s excellent, I need to see that as well. I’ll be doing my swap in the spring. Would love to see how you cut that hole and how you mark it out.

From what I've read, use a reinforcement plate or else risk the firewall flexing and maybe tearing over time.
