Clutch problem
the clutch pedal when pressed goes flat to the floorboard and doesn’t return on its own we are thinking it’s a bad master cylinder but I’m not sure because I haven’t heard about this causing the car to not start
it won’t crank with the pedal pushed down does anyone have any experience with this?

The pedal is pretty standard. You can find pictures of the mechanism (as it should be) online. There is a switch that senses when the pedal is pushed in, which will limit your ability to start the car. (Along with other sensors on the car. You should be able to download the Owners Manual from GM for free to see the full list of things that need to be set to start the car.) The stock car also came with a clutch pedal return spring, which is known for breaking. That may be gone or haning on by a thread. The stock spring has a barrel, a center bar and then two arms. The center bar and two arms engage the pedal mechanism. Commonly the arms break off. If broken you can toss the spring. (The new ones will just break again soon.) The nice thing with the aftermarket Master Cylinders, like the Tick unit, is that they require removing that spring.
