aluminum Flywheel?

Default aluminum Flywheel?

Hi Folks
Now it is time to change the clutch and flywheel. My question is - replace the flywheel with aluminum one or keep the steel flywheel? The car is a garage queen so it is not my daily ride. Any help would greatly appreciated.

do a search for the pro's and con's. i went with the alumimum flywheel myself for the weight reduction and its suited for my application of autocross/roadracing.

i've heard for drag it's better to keep the steel, 'cause it's a bit heavier & hold the inertia better for a good launch...but i've only heard that

Steel for street/drag, aluminum if you are autocrossing or road racing where you want to use the low inertia to 'engine brake'.

Let not forget that in addition to "engine braking" a lighter rotating assembly will result in much improved acceleration when you are exiting out of the corner.

it worked wonders for me but I am desperately trying to KILL low end torque to make up for traction limitations and gain mid/high RPM power
