I recently changed my clutch and with it I changed my master and slave cylinders for my 2002 Z28 6spd.

All parts were from RockAuto and Platinum Driveline brand.

I noticed now in order to get into reverse I have to press very hard on the clutch to get it into gear. I also noticed getting into gears seems a little harder.

Almost seems like the pedal need another little bit of travel to get into gear.

I have bled the system in a variety of ways including pressure vac and it doesn't seem to get any better.
Only advice I have seen is to change to a Tick Performance master cylinder. Also seeing a few post about OEM master cylinders not being the greatest. Regardless this seems to be a great option should I change my clutch down the road.

Wondering if others have ran into this same thing? Or could I have missed something?

Did you measure for shim when doing the clutch? Sounds like your on the ragged edge of slave travel.

yes the oe parts aren’t as good as aftermarket, but they will still let you shift, just not as fast when giving it the beans.

I did not do this. I was aware this is something you should do but figured I was doing OEM that this wouldnt be necessary?

In theory if I get this new master cylinder from tick would I be okay not adding a shim? Just don't wanna take my transmission out again if i dont have to.
