Default lt1 style t56 questions

so i have a complete lt1 t56 got it for cheap because i figured on my old post a corvette style t56 would be too much work. now i have learned it is a 26 or 27 spline input shaft so swapping out to a ls1 input is not in the question but i also dont want to. i am trying to do everything i can to retain the externals tyle slave cylinder so i need to know has anyone used a spacer plate to push the flywheel and clutch closer to the trans so it engages properly i know im looking at the mcleod pilot bushing 8617 and have read maybe two posts of people trying this but they never posted wether they got it to work im ready to die on this hill to keep my lt1 style t56 as lt1 as possible and keep the external style slave cylinder so any help or advice is appreciated

first edit: the engine is a lm7 5.3 2002 i have found a flywheel and spacer for the pilot bearing that will get me to that extra .400 i need to have for the input shaft to make it to the crank hole where the pilot bearing goes

LT T56 is 26 Spline Input 27 Spline Output, just like the LS.

Would be really great to know what you're trying to put it behind..

So I'll correct my above, was looking at numbers all day yesterday and overload...

So all that, is for an Auto setup. Pilot refers to the dimple on the front of the Convertor.

LT1 Input Shaft is 1" shorter than the LS Input Shaft. Given how the LS Internal Slave works with the Clutch setups you'll need to convert the LT T56 to the LS type or sell/trade for an LS T56. It is the easiest way.

Pic for reference, I built one a while back.

im trying to do everything i can to omit having to switch to a internal style slave cylinder hence why im looking at spacers and an extension for the housing the input shaft goes into

The most boring, missionary way around this is:
Verify input shaft gear teeth count inside. These mesh with the countershaft.
if 31, get LS1 Camaro T56 input and front plate.
If 29, get the aftermarket conversion input shaft (LS1 Camaro length, fits 1993 Camaro T56), and LS1 Camaro T56 front plate.
You're trying to go kustom without a single upside over "stock" parts.

Easiest way I've been able to spot a 1993 T56 is they don't have the Skip Shift Solenoid on them. That hole is a casted dimple in the side of the case.
Then again that's a complete factory unit no one has been in.

Converting to LS spec or getting one will be the simplest way.. just how it is.

so question i have a early t56 i believe the splines on the countershaft are 26 i found something online that would make it to where i can convert to a ls style input shaft. i think its a 93 or 94 i will send some pictures of the case when im home but the guy who built my trans said that a normal basic ls1 input shaft would not line up with the countershaft i have 2.97:1 first and know for sure its an early model t56

29 TOOTH, not Spline. Attention to detail here. Literally says it in your pic you posted.

I am very familiar with the 1993 M29 stuff, I build T56's and converted one into a LS Fbody unit with C5 Corvette Gears because I got the parts to do it.

Again, in this case built it to LS Spec, it's easier.
