Default T56 LS7 clutch disengagement issues

I have recently swapped a t56 along with a used ls7 clutch/pp/flywheel with less than a 1000 miles on it. I know it's not recommended, but I had a tight budget after purchasing the t56. After starting the car, it is very difficult to put it in 1st gear. The pedal feels good pressurewise, but it starts to disengage very low. I have to pretty much stand on the clutch pedal so that it disengages enough to allow me to shift. It makes moving from traffic light very difficult as I have approximately 0.1" of travel before it bites. Reverse is impossible unless I shut it off and get it in gear. It drags quite a bit in gear, as if I rev it while standing on the clutch pedal, the car wants to move. Once moving I can shift gears relatively ok, but I only managed to get up to 4th on my short drive. The clutch smells cause its dragging. I am not sure if I let all the air out with my mityvac, but I was trying to bleed it for the past 5 days with no improvement. I even dropped the trans because I was paranoid of putting the clutch backwards. While I was down there, I replaced the slave just in case. This is my first time dealing with a t56 so Im not sure how exactly to proceed. What can it be? Is it time for a new clutch?

Do you have an adjustable master cylinder?

Just to add information, the setup is in a 3rd gen camaro. I have 4th gen pedals, still have the old 4th master installed that came with the trans. Ive seen some people extend the rod to help with clutch disengagent. Is this a good method? I was thinking of getting an adjuatable master, but after seeing those prices, I slowed down a bit.
I just dont want to pointlessly throw money at this car if that isnt the cause.

Update: measured the pedal travel today and it came out to be approximately 0.6 in. I've read that it should be 1in. Guess that's where the problem might be.
