On a maiden voyage in a new to me, GTO I lost the clutch while reversing out of a parking spot. Causing me to panic pull it out of reverse as I was losing it as the car was accelerating with the clutch disengaging. Immediately after there was a pop feeling and the shifter moved around but still in reverse.

Eventually, I was able to get the car in neutral just fiddling with it. But now as it sits I can go to the spot of every gear and it almost feels right, but does not go in any gear.

Based on everything that happened and is doing now, I assume my issue is in relation the shifter as it connects to the trans. It doesn’t feel completely disconnected, but catches when going left or right I can still go.
