Default NV4500 swap question - please help

Thanks in advance for any help or wisdom!

I’m swapping an NV4500 from a 96 Chevy truck into my 05 GMC Yukon XL 2500 4X4, and I am just about to start putting the flywheel on, and noticed in the parts stores online, there is a flywheel spacer available. Does anyone have any idea if I would need that, or how to find out if I do?

I’ve seen a couple conversion videos from auto to manual, but they were mostly 1/2 ton trucks or SUV’s, and not the 3/4 ton. Any advice on that issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The flex plate spacer was used to run a short crank Gen IIi with a dished flex plate, then spacer, then bolts in front of a 4L80. Or spacer, then flat flex plate.

If your 2005 has a short crank 6.0, you need the 4.8 5spd flywheel.Unless your 05 has an early long crank 6.0 swapped in, the the flywheel must be aftermarket.

You won't be running the spacer.
