Bye Bye Clutch...
The gear install went well and the tuning was great. (we rescaled the injectors, played with timing, AF etc) Car drives a TON better and feels great.
On the only pull with the cutout open in the intermediate pipe (through cats) the clutch just let loose. Sounded like someone pushed a button on a 200 shot LOL!
This sintered iron disc "beast" of a clutch just cant take it unfortunately.
The only alternatives are:
Mcleod twin disc (VERY expensive)
RAM 9000 VDS (not too bad price wise)
Spec Stage 4 or Stage 5 with sintered iron disc
Hollywood knows someone in Oakville/burlington that makes custom clutches. I'll be giving him a call as well.
Drove all the way home and kept it in sixth the whole way. When I got to near home I tried to hit it in first gear.
The clutch held in first and with the power the car is making and the 4.11's the car goes through first gear in a BLINK of an eye. It is freaking WILD LOL!!
I hit second and the revs freewheeled (clutch let go again)
I'll let you know what I end up doing. I go to Maryland next weekend so I'd like to have this resolved before then...
Cheers,
Chris
My McLeod revlok iron disc spun on me one time at the track but "healed" itself and is working great now? If you would keep us posted on what you find out..
