The bleeder comes off of the slave (a/k/a throwout bearing in non-hydraulic clutches) where the hydraulic line comes in at say 9 o'clock and the bleeder valve is at 10:30 on the hour hand. It is impossible to reach on my car. I drilled a hole in the trans tunnel to reach it from the inside, where it is a one-man job to push the clutch pedal down with the bleeder open, and then close the bleeder and pull the pedal up. I drilled a 1" inch hole and plugged it with a rubber plug and some duct tape. The hole is under the carpet and invisible in normal use. Just estimate where the hole should be and drill it from the inside.
It sounds like you have air in the line. Your symptoms get worse after you sit at a stop light light, right? You need to bleed it now and then anyway because the heat rising from the exhaust pipe makes the fluid hot so it absorbs water easier.
GM actually has no service interval on bleeding and flushing the clutch.

I did a search and just pasted it for you

Oh, and no, if you buy your slave from GM dealer, it comes bench bled. Mine did today. Didn't have any problems either.

FWIW - I think it's easier to bleed the Master through the Slave when everything is in the car rather than use that MityVac method...

you should always bleed the system after any service to it just to be safe
