Tail Housing bushing
Tail Housing bushing I just installed a new tail housing bushing and it is real right to slide the DS in now. is that supposed to be that tight when its new and will it lossen up like the previous one after some break in? To install the new one i tapped it in w/ a block of wood and then used a socket of the same size to seat it down to where the original one was. it doesnt look out of round anywhere just real tight on the DS yoke. i can get it to go the whole way but its real tough. I'd like to figure this out before i finsh putting the rest of the trans together.

Sometimes they are a real bugger to get in there smoothly.
I like the warm the tailhousing, freeze the bushing, and drive it in with a spare solid aluminum (Global West control arm bushing) shell. Since the new bushing is inexpensive and cheaper than a new slip yoke, I'd go ahead and do a new one.
