Clutch problem?

Clutch problem? First off, how do you know when your clutch is going out? Im the kind of person that worries when I notice the slightest change in the way my car ('98 Trans Am) is running. It could be just in my head but my clutch seems to be easier to push down right now....I immediately started to think that my clutch is burning out. So what are the signs to look for a clutch going bad?
Well the typical thing that goes in the early LS1 clutches is the hydraulic's & the pressure plate. If you get on it wide open throttle & it sucks the clutch pedal down or when pushed it stays down. If the clutch master fluid is black & full of chunks that is not good.Then of course if it slips in a high gear low RPM.
Most of us here modded our cars & the stock clutch's shortcoming where not far behind. I'd recommend on your pre-01 to do a adjustable master, an updated slave & drill mod the hydraulic line. Then a good performance clutch set & you'll be set.

I'll have to look at that....whatever it is it just doesn't feel right. In first gear at 5,000 rpm I was just at 40mph.....don't know if I should be going faster than that or not. It feels like I have to push the clutch in further now....it seems like the first 1/2 of the way down has lost all pressure.
