Conversion 87 Corvette Transmission

Conversion 87 Corvette Transmission Need to know if/what are any modifications needed to convert 4+3 to 5 or 6 speed standard transmission? Need transmission and price.

- Mike, they did not make an 83 Corvette, I'm guessing you mean 84.
- I think some people have had great success swapping in a ZF 6 Speed in place of the old Doug Nash one since they both come from a C4. I'm not sure what a ZF would cost right now. Perhaps around $2000 + core. Plus I'm guessing you'd have to get the correct driveshaft since I doubt the two transmissions are the same length. Also you might be looking at a new flywheel to match the ZF as the ZF uses a dual mass setup, and I'm not quite sure what the DN 4+3 uses. ZF clutch hydraulics will probably be needed as well. I think the ZF is the most painless since it was installed on 89+ C4 Corvettes, and the parts are still available.
