Default My clutch?

I have a 01 TA with only 8,000 miles on it and when I got in today and pushed down on the clutch to start it up it sounded like a spring broke. My clutch still works, but it goes down about a 1/2 before it starts to catch. Any idea of what it was?

Take a look under the dash. I believe there is a return spring on the clutch pedal lever.
That would account for the spring breaking sound.

It's been a couple years since I was under there but I think you have to remove a panel thats under the steering column to see under there. I think it was 2 screws on my SS and it pulled out.

I have been looking for the article I used but I can't seem to find it.

Follow the clutch lever. There is a spring that attaches near the top which pulls the pedal back after you depress the clutch pedal.

It would be good if this was the problem because things start getting more expensive and harder to fix if this isn't the problem

If you do a search for "pedal return spring" in this forum you should see a lot of info. It might take some time to dig through it all but you will probably find some help

Good luck. Hope this helps.

I got in there and it is not the return spring. I was still able tho drive the car fine just that the pedal goes down about 1/2 inch before it catches. Any other ideas? Maybe nothing?

It only has 8k miles on it. Sounds like it is finally being broken in
