thicker shim???

thicker shim??? I installed a spec stage 2 clutch with the green shim and a fidanza Al flywheel a few months ago. I upgraded the hydraulics, made my new master cylinder adjustable, did the drill mod, insulated the steel braided line, and bled like crazy (even used the mity vac). No matter what i do, i can not fix the problem of shifting at high rpms, mainly from 2 to 3. The engagement is like 1-2 inchs off the floor and has not moved up. I adjusted the rod of the master cylinder all the way out and i am still having problems shifting at WOT.
Do i need a thicker shim (the metal shim spec offers)? I first installed the clutch without the green shim and could not get any pedal pressure. Once i installed the shim, i got pressure but the engagement was close to the floor. Could it be that i need to cut the cone on the spring in the bottom of the master more (i cut it in half)? Or could it be that my pressure plate bolts are backing out? Any suggestions would be helpful.
