Default T56 in old Bird

Can anyone provide me with some leads/info for putting a t56 in my '70 Bird. The info im looking for....What t56 do i want (GM, Viper, Ford, etc.) since i know the shafts differ. Does anyone know of a bell-housing that will mate the t56 to my Pontiac 400? What clutch should I be using? Any info would be apprecaited here. Thanks.

Im using a LT1 T56 behind my LS1, but adaprters had to be made. You could probably talk to Weir Hot Rod Products about getting an adapter for you Pontiac. They can adapt the GM and Vipers trans im pretty sure, I dont know about the ford though.

Edit.
Maybe you could get a Lakewood scatter shield to mate the 400 to a T56?

I have a T56 with a mechanical clutch in my '70 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III. The transmission was built by D&D and will fit the Pontiac bellhousing. All you need is a modified crossmember, driveshaft, and shifter. The transmission comes with a 30 spline output shaft and you'll have to use a 1 1/8"x26 spline clutch disc. Transmission shifts like liquid and the gears keep the revs low. PM me if you need any more information.
