Clutch problems

Clutch problems I'm new to the LS-1 scene and I'm only 15 years old as well. The only thing that has been done to my SS is the install of a Magnaflow cat-back. After it was installed I noticed a grinding sound in first and coming out of first, and whenever I turn it makes a clunking sound. I'm not sure if its the exhuast or not, but it sounds like 1st-2nd is grinding but the clutch feels fine and it shifts like normal. I bought it used with 59,000 miles on it and it only has 60,090 on it right now. I'm not sure of any of the installs the guy before me did and when the clutch was last replaced. Can someone tell me what to look for with these symptms and what clutch would be best for a basically stock '00 SS w/ 60,090 miles?

Go with a LS6 clutch. Can't beat the price on a mildly modded car. Sounds like your clutch isn't the problem anyway from your description.
Could be the exhaust rubbing somewhere. Check and make sure it's not moved over and rubbing on the driveshaft because the torque of the engine is greatest in 1st gear. Just a suggestion, could be a number of things.

Yes, my first car is an SS. I love my car and will do anything for it,except that tools are a problem right now. I'm taking it into the shop this week because I am suspicous that my new magnaflow cat-back is rubbing somewhere. I cant get under my car to check at my house, but i wanna thank everyone who repsonded.
