Snap ring part #'s ??
I am rebuilding my t-56. The manual states that the reverse shift fork snap ring and the 5th/6th sychronizer snap ring must be replaced if removed.
Does anyone have the GM part #'s handy for these??
Thanks!!

Thanks calhoon, I appreciate the response. Any idea where I could get these in MN? I get a deal from a friend on gm parts so if I can get by the weekend from them I don't mind paying a little more.

D&D Performance (at http://www.ddperformance.com ) sells the entire snap ring kit for $15. Includes ALL of the snap rings. I like to replace all of them when I rebuild a trans. Some of them come out in pretty rough shape. If those 5-6 and R snap rings are flat, no big need to replace them (I've reused them before on my own trans). But I definitely like new snap rings on the mainshaft.

I have rebuild more T-56s than I can remember.
probably around 40???
I lost count long ago.
I don't think I have ever replaced a snap ring unless it was Broke.
I haven't had one Tranny come back yet.
Well Ok, Brains Tranny came back but that was because my supplier gave me the Wrong 5th Gear and it dissentegrated.
Never had a snap ring fail.
But if you want to replace them, it won't hurt anything.
they are pretty cheap.
