T56 third gear and drill mod question

Default T56 third gear and drill mod question

I'm having a problem with third gear in my T56. It periodically randomly grinds when i shift into third gear and seems to be worse in the cold weather. Is it correct that third gear has the most trouble with the restriction in the hydraulic line? And do you think that the drill mod would help me out, or does it sound like a synchro problem? I'm having the same problem in fourth. its happened before. just need to get new 3/4 slider keys.

The drill mod won't help a perticular Gear.
It suppose to make the Clutch grab faster.
I'm not sure there is any documentation on how much it really helps.
Most likely its a , Hey I just did all this work it better feel different thing.

As far as the third and fourth Gear.
They both work off the 3-4 Synchro assmebly (duh)
But in this assembly are some Keys.
they hold the blocker ring from spinning.
these are stamped steel and have a tendacy (sp) to Break
some get jammed where they shouldn't most just find there way to the Magnets and hang out there.
But being there they aren't doing there job anymore
The Blocker rings job is to get that perticular gear up to speed of the Shaft before the Teeth have to try and mesh.
If those keys are gone , you can see the problems that will follow.

The drill mod allows the hydraulic clutch fluid to get into the slave faster allowing the clutch to grab harder and quicker. GM put a restriction into the line going from the Master to the slave in order for a soft, easy clutch pedal engagement.

will the drill mod help on a factory slave and master cylinder?
or is this just done for the aftermarket stuff?

Default Not really up to par on my trannys

I really don't think I'd be able to fix the transmission myself, and I dont really know how willing I am to try, espcially since i'm in school and only have a few weeks till i go back from break, and because i have to get to work. The problem is the dealership is bein a bitch about opening up the transmission and looking inside. They are tryin to tell me there is no point because the T56s arent rebuildable. And obviously thats a bunch of bull. So what do I do? And does this mean its most likely the keys for the 3rd-4th synchros?
