Default Trans mount question

Just put a prothane transmission mount in. I got way more vibration/noise than I expected and a little more than I can deal with. I've heard that they break in, some. Also, I suspect that poly engine mounts will keep the engine under control more and make the transmission mount less of a problem.

Those of you who have experienced the poly trans mount with and without poly engine mounts... Is my assumption correct?

Thanks!

THe poly mount is a big no no for ls1, they cause knock sensor to retort the pcm. slowing you down. GEt a 1le mount thats the best 2001 and 02 bring them.

I had a problem with a noise coming from the transmission. Everytime I ran over a little hump in the road something would pop underneath the car. I thought it was the transmission mount so I replaced it with a poly mount. The old transmission mount looked fine. Now I have more vibration and noise and when I get into the gas the power doesn't feel the same and now when I take off from 1st it sounds really bad. Any suggestions besides changing the mount back to the stock one?

I have had the poly mont for 3 years. I disagree with the "This is a no no" statement. I have never seen false knock on mine with Atap or any other tool.

The mount will break in some. Give it a little time.

Right... well, many of us run poly mounts without even a hint of false knock. If you're getting knock from things bouncing around on a poly mount, there's something else wrong...

My car came with a poly mount in it when I bought it, couldn't stand the "thud", so I put a factory mount back in it. Shifting felt smoother, I like the factory one better, but I have heard that 1le was the best mount.

I also just put in a new poly tranny mount in my SS and there was a lot of vibration at first. After the second drive though, they were gone. Good thing I replaced my stocker, it was being torn up already.
