Master cylinder U stud
Master cylinder U stud Is there a clip on one side of the stud that holds the master to the firewall? One side seems to move freely and the other doesnt budge. Is it just stuck or am I missing something?

There are 2 bolts on the inside of the firewall. There is also a clip of sorts that holds pressure on the bolts inside the firewall. It's kind of a bitch to get in and out.

Are you talking about the star washer? I had a star washer on the passenger side of the u-bolt. I just snipped it off. You can see pictures of it on install university.

The bolt is still kind of hard to get out after you cut the star washers. You will probably have to tap on it with a hammer. Tap a little at a time, on each side of the U-bolt. It will wiggle on out... You might need to tap with a small punch or something to get it al the way out towards the very end. Those last couple of threads will hang on the firewall.
