Grinding From First To Second When Cold......
Grinding From First To Second When Cold...... Tried using search - didnt pull up much.
Is this a commom problem? Its a 94 LT1/M6 91K Miles - It almost always grinds a little when going into second gear (only second, no other gears) right after start up, once it warms up it shifts perfect, its not a horrible grind just a slight catch feeling, I first thought the second gear syncro's were going out but it shifts great after it warms up, any thoughts?

Id like to know why my car is doing this as well. I have a 2002 m6 with 70K on the clock. I will say that I switched from the factory fill to synchromesh over the summer, so this is my first winter running the synthetic syncromesh. I am wondering if the stuff is simply too slippery for the synchros to get friction when its cold. But like said above, after the first couple of stop signs / lights in the morning, the car shifts fine. And mine too only affects the first to second gear shift.

Same thing is happening to my car. But, it has happened since I've purchase the car but I chose to ignore it because it never got better or worse.
But, sometimes when I shift quickly in WOT runs from 1st to 2nd in grinds a bit.......synchros going bad???? And again, the problem doesn't seem to get worst. I've also replaced the tranny fluid like a year ago and it didn't change anything.
