Time to replace the clutch Took the car into the dealer to have the tranny checked out to see what's goin on. Clutch needs to be replaced. One of the springs came loose and the clutch was wobbling so it is fucked. Dealer told me I need a new clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.
I'm here to ask what you guys think I should do for a fix. The cheapest I have found is about 900 dollars for parts and labor to repair it to OEM.
My car isn't very heavily modded and probably will never see over 400 whp. I'm looking at getting a Spec stage 2 clutch with an aluminum flywheel. Any recommendations here?
Money is an issue right now. I will have to spend less 1,000 dollars total.
How hard would it be for me to install the new clutch myself? If that's possible I'd like to do that to save money or put more money into the clutch itself.
I have another car I can drive, so rushing isn't an issue. Spring break is coming up so I should have time to work on it quite a bit.

Id get a stage 1 from spec if u wont be going over 400... its 100 bucks cheaper at like 300 shipped, then u can do a stock GM flywheel/pressure plate and you should be good. You could buy that stuff and have a shop do it RIGHT for less than 900 bucks! That is my suggestion!

z06 clutch kit for like 300 dollars, if you are not planning to go crazy on mods with your vehicle. And then just find somebody to do it that's not a dealership unless you want to spend $800 for an install. The install shouls also cost around from $300 to $400.

This is the OEM Z06 Includes Flywheel, Pressure Plate and Clutch.
The 14061685 is your pilot bearing.
I'm going to get a Centerforce clutch going to run me around $800.
