synco problem?

synco problem? Recently the synco for second gear went out on me. Just wondering if this a problem with most t-56 trannies. If so how much would it cost to fix or should i just fix it myself. thanks for any advice

Mine 1-2 syncro is nothing like when it was new. Doesn't like going to 2nd quite often. I got to ask what was yours like for a while before it went out? Did it grind, or just seem to stop? I know there is a good internet web site to get parts for all T56. I can not remember it now, but I know I have found it doing searches here before. If you just get new blocker rings for the 1-2 syncro I think it was under $100? Don't quote me on that.
If you can repair your self, you'll save about 600.00 dollars labor only, the parts, even if you get viper stuff is real cheap, If you take it apart, get the viper shift forks, blocking rings, and get anything available in kevlar. do I google search for viper trannies internals, I have yet to see our sponcers carry this stuff(hint, hint) I will look for the invoice from my tranny rebuild and give you a number
