Default Pro 5.0 hard to shift into reverse

Anyone else have this problem with their Pro 5.0? It's especially hard to shift into reverse first thing in the morning...if I have to shift into reverse again shortly thereafter, it goes in OK. Just wondering if I messed something up during the install or if the shifter itself is bad. I bought it used off of another board member. TIA

Yup hard.
On the other hand manual trans. You can't always find the first or reverse with a stick shift. You need to move the gears, step on clutch pedal again or shift like 1-2-1 if you cant find the first (or reverse)

Yeah sometimes I have to pump the clutch another time and then put it into 1st or 2nd to get the synchros to go or whatever is really happening when it does that. After that it slides in pretty easy.

same here..hard to get into reverse sometimes and 6th gear is harder all the time. I have to be more aggresive getting it into 6th than the others.
It goes in but just a little more effort required.

I always put a vehicle in a forward gear before I go to reverse. It makes it so much smoother.

I tried moving the shifter to 3rd before going into reverse, and it's smooth as silk. Guess I'll do that from now on. Thanks guys, just wanted to be sure I didn't have a junk shifter or something. Out of curiousity, does the B&M Ripper do this as well? Anybody switched?

I have the same issue. I simply put it in first and roll a little forward wait to the car either stops or rolls back and then I can put it into reverse. This whole problem pisses me off and have contemplated switching to a different shifter.

This is an issue since the beginning of this Shifters popularity to us F-Body owners. If my mind serves me correctly, it was something about adjusting the stops, and if it wasn't that it had something to do w/ the hydraulics. Otherwise, just live with it, if it becomes impossible, try to adjust it, and if that doesn't work DUMP IT (in the garbage)
