Question pilot bearing seating

i'm installing a ram power grip clutch and billet flywheel in my '02 Z28. when i pulled the old pilot bearing out, i thought i remembered it being flush with the crankshaft, but when i installed the new one, it went in further. does it matter?

thanks

It should be completely flush to the crank. It should not stick out. None of my specs have every done that. And I replace it everytime we replace the clutch. Which this is the 3rd time lol.

It's not sticking out, it's in further than flush.
