Default Should I convert to M6?

I have a 2001 silverado with the mods in my sig. I blew my 60E this past week. I am considering of swaping it for a T-56. What do you guys recommend. Let me say I do not want to throw in another 60E cause I know later it will eventually take a dump, I am considering a built 60E or a built 65E but they are $$$$. I dont want to convert to the 80E becase its a tank and will rob me on some power. I am pretty sure the T-56 can handle the weight and all of the truck. It can come out expensive but if I do my homework I think I might be able to do it under 2K.

Those of you who have converted do you really like it and have no regrets, what are the pros and cons?

Its used in the SRT10 trucks . I haven't heard of any problems with it . I think that wheel hop will be your #1 enemy with a stick . Keep it under control and you should be fine .

You'll miss the ease of pulling away hard from a stoplight. Does the truck have a lot of gear - you'll want it given the weight and the T56's longer first gear compared with a 4l60e

Yeah, you would definitely want 4.10's+ with that weight. Your truck isn't a 4x4, is it?

No the truck is not a 4x4, and I am running 3:73 in the back, the weight I am estimating is about 4850 w/o me. I think if I do convert, I will later run some 4:56 to make up for that Hi first. Do you guys feel more of that power being put to the ground with the tranny.?
